The Influence of Online Reviews

A recent survey by Synup asked customers which restaurant they would choose from those listed on the left. Nearly 69% of the customers selected a business that was further away (10 minutes) with a $$$ price tag on Google, over a business that was closer (7 minutes) with a $$ price tag.

 

The only difference? The star rating of the business. Customers chose a restaurant that was farther away and more expensive because it had a 4.5 star rating, as opposed to a business that was cheaper and nearer to them with a 2.6 star rating. Clearly, the overall star rating of a business matters a lot to customers.
